About HHHH

This program is designed to support Foster Care Homes, Kinship Homes, and high-risk families by offering services that help stabilize the home environment. 

Our goal is to give caregivers, foster parents, and kin the tools and resources they need to manage daily challenges and prevent disruptions in placements. 

We also focus on helping children and youth build stronger, healthier connections with their caregivers. We use evidence based techniques like CBT, art based, play based techniques to improve emotional regulation and improve behaviours.

With our support, we aim to create a nurturing and stable home where both caregivers and children can thrive.

Those outside the catchment area are able to receive in office support or remote support to ensure we are able to serve as many families as possible given the large geography of the Island.

Services Provided with the HHH Program

 

  • Thorough Assessment: Conducting a thorough assessment of the child, environmental risks, their supports, caregivers, and their surrounding and supporting systems.
  • Transportation Services: Driving children to extracurricular activities, cultural activities, school, tutoring etc.
  • Parental Education: Guidance and practical solutions for parenting challenges based on theories of attachment.
  • Attachment Therapy: Facilitating Theraplay activities as needed to support child/ caregiver relationship by developing structure, engagement, challenge, and nurturing in the caregiver/ child relationship.
  • Emotional & Practical Support: Listening, mentoring, and offering advice tailored to each family's needs.
  • Advocacy: Working with schools, agencies, or service providers to ensure children’s needs are met. Advocating for supports for families (high-risk, kinship or foster) to access resources.
  • Connecting with Resources: Connecting children and families (high-risk, kinship or foster) with other agencies and resources.
  • Behavioral Support: Assisting children with behavioral challenges and offering strategies for improvement including CBT and behaviour modification strategies.
  • Neurodiversity Support: Providing support to children and caregivers who are neurodiverse. Implementing strategies to help support the development of executive functioning skills.
  • Facilitating Connection with Cultural Supports: Educating caregivers about the child’s cultural background if it differs from the caregiver’s background. 


  • Family Support: Assist the family in developing routines, family rituals of connection and family culture. Assisting with reducing sibling conflict and sibling rivalry. Encouraging quality family time. 


  • Household Management & Life Skills Development: Supporting caregivers in developing household management skills such as meal planning, budgeting, cleaning, safety planning (fire, pools etc.), establishing routines, managing schedules, children’s hygiene, self-care and regulation strategies. 

Exclusion Criteria

This program is not a good fit for: 

Households where there is active addiction or domestic violence or caregiver violent history.

FEES: $200.00/hr starting at the beginning of travel to the location. 

One time program fee of 300.00 for program set up
